![]() Welcome to Red Bud High School... Home of the Musketeers!!! |
SCHOOL WILL BE CLOSED TUESDAY FEB. 9, 2010 DUE TO INCLEMENT WEATHER. |
H1N1 Red Bud School District has been reviewing plans for dealing with the potential outbreak of the H1N1 virus. Symptoms usually include: cough, sore throat, fever, weakness but may also include vomiting and diarrhea. Both schools are experiencing a variety of student illnesses; however the high school absenteeism has seen a significant increase. We are working closely with the local health department and are following their recommendations as well as the CDC's and the Illinois State Board of Education. As part of this plan we would like to track student absences. When calling the office to report your child's absence please indicate what type of symptoms your child has if they are ill. Also, please indicate if they have been or if they are going to the doctor and keep the school informed of any diagnosis that is made. To ensure the well being of your child, other students, and staff members, do not send your child back to school until they have been fever free for 24 hours without the use of fever reducing medicine . If your child returns to school before this time, they may be sent home. Do not give your child fever reducing medicine before school to mask the fever and symptoms. We need your help in this potential outbreak. The best defense against the H1N1 and any illness is to practice good hygiene. Talk to your children about hand washing, covering their cough, and not to sharing personal items. WE CAN NOT STRESS ENOUGH THE IMPORTANCE OF KEEPING YOUR CHILD HOME IF THEY ARE ILL. Your child should also follow up with their physician if necessary, and please keep the school informed. Thank you for your cooperation in helping us to provide a healthy, safe environment for your child's education. For more information go to: www.cdc.gov/h1n1flu/ |
